So we still don’t know exactly what sleep is for, according to Slate Magazine, but there seems to be credible evidence that memory improves with better sleep. The piece concludes by recommending more research.
We know that in many cases pills only improve sleep in limited fashion and sometimes not at all, often masking sleep problems. Let’s hope more research gets funded to understand the complexities of sleep, which should lead to better treatments for sleep disorders.
